Proof Research PXT Rifling: How It Boosts Accuracy
Proof Research PXT Rifling: How It Boosts Accuracy. Proof Research's PXT rifling explained: what the barrel tech changes for precision, velocity, and barrel life — and whether it's worth it. { "@context": "https://schema.org", "@graph": [ { "@type": "Organization", "@id": "https://greyhive.com#organization", "name": "Greyhive", "url": "https://greyhive.com", "description": "Greyhive is a censorship-resistant video platform for the firearms, 2A, hunting, and outdoor industries — where creators build, review, and monetize unfiltered content.", "logo": { "@type": "ImageObject", "url": "https://greyhive.com/static/uploads/images/ae198483-01c9-44b4-a16a-03f516ceaf66.svg", "width": 512, "height": 512 }, "sameAs": [ "https://x.com/greyhive", "https://www.instagram.com/greyhive/", "https://www.youtube.com/@Greyhive", "https://www.linkedin.com/company/greyhive/" ] }, { "@type": "WebSite", "@id": "https://greyhive.com#website", "url": "https://greyhive.com", "name": "Greyhive", "description": "Greyhive is a censorship-resistant video platform for the firearms, 2A, hunting, and outdoor industries — where creators build, review, and monetize unfiltered content.", "publisher": { "@id": "https://greyhive.com#organization" } }, { "@type": "Person", "@id": "https://greyhive.com/c/sons_of_liberty_gun_works#person", "name": "Sons of Liberty Gun Works", "url": "https://greyhive.com/c/sons_of_liberty_gun_works", "description": "Sons of Liberty Gun Works is a Greyhive creator producing original 2A, firearms, hunting, and outdoor content.", "image": "https://greyhive.com/lazy-static/avatars/e2243d25-0f0a-424a-8051-ecf3769dd1ab.jpg" }, { "@type": "Article", "@id": "https://greyhive.com/blog/proof-research-pxt-rifling-technology#article", "isPartOf": { "@id": "https://greyhive.com#website" }, "mainEntityOfPage": { "@id": "https://greyhive.com/blog/proof-research-pxt-rifling-technology" }, "url": "https://greyhive.com/blog/proof-research-pxt-rifling-technology", "headline": "PXT Rifling: How Proof Research's New Tech Changes Precision Rifles", "name": "PXT Rifling: How Proof Research's New Tech Changes Precision Rifles", "description": "Proof Research's PXT (Proof eXponential Twist) rifling reduces recoil torque, extends barrel life 2–3x, and improves precision across high-pressure ammo. Here's what the technology means for precision shooters and competitive riflers.", "articleSection": "Firearms", "articleBody": "Proof Research's new PXT (Proof eXponential Twist) rifling is a non-linear gain-twist barrel technology that starts the projectile at an almost-straight rate of spin and progressively accelerates it down the bore. Unlike the constant-twist rifling that has dominated small arms for a century, PXT spreads the work of engraving the bullet across the full length of the barrel rather than slamming it at the throat. The result is measurably less recoil torque, dramatically extended barrel life, and tighter dispersion across high-pressure ammunition. In a 75-minute sit-down at Sons of Liberty Gun Works in San Antonio, Mike from SOLGW hosted Greg Hamilton (Director of Special Projects at Proof Research, 15 years in since inception), Sean Murphy (VP of Sales & Marketing, ex-Nightforce, competitive shooter with a 45-of-50-match win record), and Scott Peterson (Director of Special Projects, retired Marine Corps Shooting Team and 9 years at the Army Marksmanship Unit). The conversation laid out how PXT moved from medium-caliber cannon barrels into precision small arms — and why these three say it's a generational leap, not an incremental upgrade. This is the first time Proof Research has spoken publicly about PXT in detail. Barrels and complete bolt…
