In his field test on Greyhive, EagleRun23 mounted the brand-new Tourer 4K on a heavily modified Howa Mini Action chambered in 6mm ARC, zeroed it in a pasture with no levels and no torque wrench, and then hunted hogs with it an hour later. Digital night vision reads reflected light and IR illumination the way a camera does, so it renders detail, edges, and steel targets the way daylight glass would. A thermal scope reads heat signatures instead. That trade-off is why EagleRun23 reached for the Tourer on a rifle he shoots \"day, evening, or night\" rather than a dedicated thermal setup. In his words: \"for a 6 ARC rifle that I can shoot day, evening, or night, I might not want to use just a thermal imager, and that's where this scope comes in handy.\" The scope was introduced at SHOT Show and is the second RIX optic he's run in recent months — the first being the RIX Storm thermal, which he also rates highly. After several hundred rounds across multiple hunts, his verdict is blunt: the Tourer 4K is staying on the 6 ARC permanently. Key Takeaways The RIX Tourer 4K is digital night vision, not thermal — it renders detail and steel plates far better than thermal at distance.
