<description>Soft body armor is not a one-size-fits-all decision, and most people considering it are not sure where to start. At NRAAM 2026 I talked with Sean from Maverick Tactical about who actually needs concealable body armor, and got a look at the final, production version of their HG2 Concealable Shirt - a follow-up to an earlier in-progress version Sean showed me previously. The production HG2 shirt reflects direct customer feedback gathered since that earlier look. The plate insertion design now uses a hybrid material plate with longer tails for better coverage and fit, and the front zipper entry makes putting it on and taking it off significantly easier. On the protection side, the HG2 Concealable Shirt is NIJ HG2 rated and tested against 9mm and .44 magnum, and is special threat tested against FN 5.7 - a round that not every concealable option accounts for. At 1/4 inch thick, it stays genuinely concealable under regular clothing, and the cover is 100% waterproof. It is now available. What's Covered in This Video: Overview of the now-available Maverick Tactical HG2 Concealable Shirt, Who soft body armor actually makes sense for, What changed since the earlier in-progress version, Customer feedback that led to the hybrid plate design and longer tails, Front zipper entry and how it improves ease of use, NIJ HG2 rating and special threat testing against FN 5.7, Thinness and concealability under everyday clothing, Conversation with Sean from Maverick Tactical at NRAAM 2026, If you're a manufacturer interested in having your product evaluated in real-world use like this, details are here: https://couttsagency.com/product-reviews/ This video documents a conversation with Sean from Maverick Tactical at NRAAM 2026 about the now-available production version of their HG2 Concealable Shirt, following up on an earlier in-progress look.
