<description>One of the first things performance shotgun owners typically do with their new shotgun is to send it to a custom gun shop to get the forcing cone lengthened. The forcing cone is that area in a shotgun where the shot load exits the wider chamber and enters the narrower bore. This area is typically very steep and short which can create excessive friction and pellet deformation. At Retay, we factory lengthen (and polish) the forcing cone in every barrel we make which, by reducing friction, increases shot velocity and, by reducing pellet collision and deformation, increases pattern density. This means better shooting performance right out of the box without the need for aftermarket gunsmithing. Here's Hunter Wallis talking about Retay's Factory Lengthened Forcing Cone.
