All of my videos feature products that were either borrowed from a friend or purchased by me. However when Aipas offered the chance to review one of their e-bikes it fit my current situation. In this video I attempt to address subjects that I find useful in my search for purchasing an E-Bike. At the time of making of this video, the Aipas M2 Pro and the M1 Pro E-bikes are just under $1k online. For all around E-Bike for street, hike and bike tails and some beginner single track, this bike would be ideal for anyone looking to step into the E-Bike world. If you are focused mainly on single track riding/racing style, you may want to look at a non fat tire bike. From my research they are more traditional is style and handling and lighter in weight. However, they will come at a much higher price.

The Hammerli Forge H1 is a Walther pistol just like the Colt 1911-22 with the exception of the Hammerli branding. Additionally the Hammerli has much better slide cuts than the Colt version. I find the 4.25" model more comfortable to shoot as compared to the 5.0" version. However, I am experimenting with some other recoil springs in the 5.0" version. I think I may have found a solution.

I have been trying to get my AR10 chambered in 308 to cycle reliably for a few years now. Keep in mind that I have been working on this is my spare time and weather permitting. Additionally it has not been a high priority since I hunt with the 6.8SPC and use the 5.56mm for competition and coyote hunting. OK off topic crap done, now to the details in case you found this article desperately searching for a solution and got tired of wading through crap in the forums and youtube videos that NEVER seem to stay on topic.

MY SETUP

I built this billet AR10 upper and lower receiver using DPMS parts kit, DPMS BCG and a Bear Creek Arsenal 16" 1-10 twist barrel with mid-length gas system. Before you look at my pictures and think "Hey! That looks like an Armalite patterned upper and lower, why are you using DPMS parts?" This matched upper and lower is made by AES Weapons and they designed it to look like an Armalite pattern but use the more common DPMS parts. SIDE NOTE: if you were confused about Armalite vs DPMS, I just made it a bit worse for you.

Since I am going to be shooting this primarily suppressed, I installed an adjustable gas block so I could reduce the amount of gas cycling the BCG. Suppressors increase the gas pressure and can induce feeding and ejection problems, as well have potentially damage parts or premature wear on parts.

THE PROBLEM
So what I was running into was failures to feed/eject no matter what type of ammo I was using. Magazine type did not make a difference. When I removed the upper from the lower I could see where the black anodizing was gone and what appeared to be "dents" in and around the opening of the buffer tube. So I got my Dremel tool out and removed some of the material where this damage was occurring thinking there may be a design flaw in the lower. The issue still persisted... I even removed some material from the mouth of the buffer tube since it had gotten dented too. Still did not fix the problem.

Even with the gas block turned down, I figured it must be getting too much gas and the BCG is moving way to fast backwards and not giving the spent brass casing time to "shrink back down to size" for a smooth extraction. If the BCG starts rearward too fast before the gas pressure in the chamber has time to normalize, the brass casing is still swelled inside the chamber walls and can "stick" causing friction that impedes the extraction... inducing a failure. The typical solution for this is a heavier buffer like an H2, H3 or tungsten. The idea is to add weight to the BCG and slow it down giving time for the chamber pressure to normalize. Another solution is an increase power or heavier recoil spring. I tried both buffer and spring and the problem still occurred.

THE SOLUTION

After searching all over for an example of the damage I was seeing... and not finding it, I had two options. Replace this bad ass super tight upper and lower set or try an "enhanced" buffer tube that I occasionally saw on the internet but the reviews and marketing hype never mentioned the damage I was seeing. I was prepared to dump another $50 for a stupid buffer tube if it fixed the problem but was happy to find the Aero Precision Enhanced Buffer Tube cheaper for about $33 at Primary Arms. So I opened the wallet and spent more money. My next trip to the range was a success! I ran the same ammo that never ran 100% in this rifle and all of it cycled perfectly.

HOW THE ENHANCED BUFFER TUBE WORKS

So if you look at the pictures, the enhanced buffer tube has an extended portion at the bottom called "Carrier Support Extensions". This extension to the novice like myself looks like a nice feature to help keep that buffer detent and spring from shooting across the room. However the real feature of that extended portion is to allow the rear portion of the BCG to rest on it and act as a guide into the buffer tube. Pretty much like how a shoe horn works on shoes.

As many of you may know I am not a Taurus fan at all. I've owned two Taurus handguns in my life and that was enough. One was a model 66, 357Magnum revolver and the cylinder holes for the rounds had rough machine marks and I had to use a hammer on the ejection rod to get the empty brass out of the gun. SOLD IT... The second was a Taurus PT92 and the bold face eroded like I was shooting high pressure rounds in it. SOLD IT... never to own another Taurus again.

That all changed when I saw the 16 round TX22 announced. Being someone that makes High Capacity magazine upgrades for other 22's, I had to see this gun since most manufacturers only make 10 round mags.

After shooting this gun for almost a year, it is now my second favorite gun behind the M&P22 Compact. Only because the Compact is smaller and I can get the same amount of rounds in the gun. The TX22 shot every type of ammo I ran in it with out fail. The grip is SUPER, the trigger is SUPER, the capacity is SUPER. I can not say enough good things about this gun.

Many folks have asked for a follower that adds capacity to the factory magazines for the Mosquito and FireFly 22LR pistols that lock the slide open on last shot fired. Up until now all that was available was our Shockbottle follower that does add 4 extra rounds, but did not lock the slide on an empty mag. That has all changed now. The NicTaylor follower for the Sig Sauer Mosquito and the its clone the German Sport Gunworks FireFly will now lock the slide open on last shot fired. Like many of the other followers from Taylor Tactical Supply, this follower locks the slide back by engaging the bolt face of the slide like an AR15 22 conversion magazine. It is recommended for the best performance to turn the magazine spring backwards in the mag tube to give the rear of the follower that extra kick to engage the slide. If you do not turn the spring backwards, the slide may not lock open.

This is a magazine kit for the Smith & Wesson M&P22 Compact pistol that allows you to get more rounds in the factory magazine. This kit is not permanent and can be installed in a matter of minutes. You can easily convert your magazine back to it's factory configuration if you ever have the need or you move to a location like California that does not allow these parts.

The kit is comprised of an aluminum basepad, magazine spring, Hi-Viz NicTaylor follower and a hex wrench for attaching the basepad to the magazine tube. Once you disassemble your factory magazine you will only use the magazine tube. Install the follower, compress the included magazine spring and slide on the basepad. Take the included hex wrench and finger tighten the set screw on the bottom of the basepad. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

So I went to the Dawson Precision website and entered the specs of my TX-22 on the "Sight Math" link and the calculator spit out the suggested front sight height for my deviation. I ordered one of the Glock front sights for my TX22 since the mounting method used in both the Glock and TX22 are very similar. Turns out the Glock front sight can be installed on your TX22 with just a few modifications to the sight itself. Please keep in mind that modifying a part like this voids the possibility of returning it. So if you lost your front sight or you are not hitting at your point of aim, consider installing a Glock front sight from your favorite retailer.

At the time of this video I've been using the Walkers Electronic Earbuds for almost two years. I mainly use them for USPSA and IPSC pistol shooting competitions and Dove Hunting. I've found these little gems at a price point anyone should be able to afford when you compare the cost of hearing loss.

In the Texas heat where I reside, wearing ear muffs either passive or electronic are not an option for me due to the heat these muff conceal. This is where either straight up cheap foam ear plugs come into play or better yet, electronic noise cancelling earbuds such as these. You can spend anywhere from $100 to thousands of dollars on electronic ear protection. In the end I found these a nice price for the function.

No matter what personal defense ammo you purchase for your carry gun, you need to verify that it actually cycles in the pistol. This means you should buy at least two boxes of the ammo you decide to use.

I realize that specialized defense ammo costs many times more than your typical range ammo. However, if you plan to bet your life on this personal defense ammo, you need to verify that it will actually work in your gun. The cost is high up front with the extra box of ammo, but the cost on the back end if the ammo fails to function in your pistol is even bigger.

I run with CCI 9mm Shotshells for the first couple of rounds in my 9mm handgun when hunting in South Texas. Snakes are very prevalent in this area of the state. You have to be vigilant when walking around, getting out of your truck to open a gate, even walking outside the house or RV. So having something that can take out a snake at close range and reduce the change of ricochet is a nice option. Since I run with a 9mm as my personal weapon, I use CCI shotshells. These are somewhat difficult to find in the stores and you may need to search online. The cost runs about $15, but is worth it when you encounter a South Texas Rattler. Revolver shotshells seem to be more abundant in the big box stores, so if you plan to carry a revolver, you may be in luck when shopping for specialized ammo.

The video goes over the shot pattern and typical range or distance that you might actually shoot the ammo at. I also demonstrate a failure to feed where the plastic casing containing the shot breaks and the BB's spill out into the frame of the pistol.

20 plus years in the competitive shooting sports. Video filming and production of Point Of View (POV) footage giving the audience the First Person Shooter (FPS) perspective. I am one of the first, if not the first in the shooting sports to use a body worn camera to film my shooting competitions. This vantage point gives shooters and non-shooters alike the opportunity to see what it is really like behind the weapon with live fire. My video production of more than 10 years experience can be seen on the internet with the simple search word "NicTaylor00".

This video will go over the procedure on installing Dawson Precision Competition Fixed Sight set on the Glock 17 9mm Pistol. If you are not comfortable with filling on your new parts and potentially ruining them, then you should have a gunsmith install the parts for you.

Installing pistol sights can be a pain in the rear. Most after market sights do not come with any tools to remove or install the sights leaving you to fend for yourself or pay a gunsmith to do the work.
Dawson precision sights come with an aluminum punch so that you are better equipped to install the new sights on your own.

However, I took it a step farther and purchased the VISM, a division of NcSTAR, sight press. With this low cost tool it make removing and installing sights much easier. However, in any case you will most likely have to fit the new sight to the gun.

After attempting to shoot groups with my 9mm Diamondback FS9, it became clear that it needed a trigger job. I can't tell you how heavy the stock trigger is but it is off the scale. Having a bad trigger in any gun tends to cause inaccuracy with your shooting no matter how good you are. So after field stripping the FS9 and disassembling the slide, it was clear that the internals are very close to a Glock. Once I removed the Diamond backs striker and took out the striker spring, I noticed the OD and ID of the spring was the same as the Glock striker spring. However, the Glock striker spring is much longer than the FS9. So after cutting a stock Glock striker spring to the same length as the FS nine, I reassembled the striker / firing pin assembly and put the gun back together. The trigger pull is still off my trigger scale but I can tell you there is a noticeably difference in the trigger pull.

In my do it yourself video I used a standard factory Glock striker spring, but you can find lower power ones available. I bet someone that is willing to experiment, can play around with these different spring weights and cut different numbers of coils until they get the trigger pull to something desirable.
